Delightful children’s books that have been written by various authors. All these authors sent me a collection of gorgeous watercolour paintings and the stories they have written. I scanned and retouched the paintings and formatted the books. For The Rat’s Tale, I added some little silhouette rats to make the page numbers fun and created a truly cheesy cover. The Toolfish Build a Home was written and illustrated by 12-year-old Arianne with the help of her father as a lockdown project.

With direction from the authors, I take the book from watercolours and a Word document to the printed product. I create the cover design from illustrations given, often changing or combining two images to make them different from the pictures inside. I thoroughly enjoy creating children’s books and hope that the children reading them will enjoy them just as much. The books were all printed by The Book Printing Company and delivered to the authors. I also design and produce non-fiction books and family history books.
